Dr. Itani has twenty years of Infectious Disease experience and is the medical director at CIDS. He has been recognized for his excellence in antibiotic stewardship both nationally and internationally, and shares his expertise by teaching fellows, residents, and students. Dr. Itani believes that patient care is best when there is humble and honest communication between doctor and patient, and time is taken to listen. Patients may catch Dr. Itani wearing Duke colors during college basketball season, or rooting for Roger Federer during a tennis match. In his free time Dr. Itani enjoys Lebanese food and writing French Poetry.
